About Downtown James Brown

The funkiest, bluesiest, most-fun-you-can-have-out-of-bed dynamic show band, Downtown James Brown, was founded in 2005 by Kim Edmundson, a transplanted drummer with an amazing list of credits: movie work with Alan Silvestri, Percussion Loop libraries, television themes and cues – Kim does it all!

Downtown James Brown was Monterey’s answer to the funk and dance rhythms of the hardest working man in show business – Mr. James Brown! Soulful, hot and funky, sometimes downright nasty, DJB was the answer to your need for a party band that can kick some serious booty!
But sad to say, Downtown James Brown is now – de-funked!

Personnel:

  • Tenor Sax: Stu Reynolds
